Why Felt

Why Felt ?

Felt is used for many reasons, Most all roofs should use 15# , However if you have a lower pitch roof shingle manufactors require a thicker felt, in this case you would need to use a 30# Felt. 

If you have a older house you might consider a thicker felt in order to hide the minor imperfections of the decking material and reduce " Picture Framing" of deck panels.
 
Felt is also a water barrier and all shingle companies require it now.

At Bargain roofing it is mandatory for all of our installers to felt the entire roof dwelling.
