Is the old roof smooth enough to apply new shingles over ?
Do you have nails backing out of your decking due to poor
ventilation ?
How many layers of roofing is already on your home ?
If you have a smooth roof, and the nails are not backing
out, and only one layer of roofing your home may be ok
to recover.
Keep in mind the best way is to tear the roof off, but if
all the above is ok then its also ok to recover.
